The Store With A Story
On December 1, 2012, Jason McSteen walked through the doors of the Union Gospel Mission in Spokane with
16 cents, three shoes, and five socks. He had lost nearly everything.
But that day became the beginning of something new.
With a background in the furniture industry, Jason started rebuilding his life one step at a time. What began with selling mattresses eventually grew into 16 Cents—a furniture business built around second chances, hard work, community, and the belief that a difficult chapter doesn't have to be the end of your story.
The name 16 Cents, 3 Shoes & 5 Socks is a reminder of where it all began.
Today, 16 Cents has grown into a local furniture business serving families throughout the Inland Northwest. But the reason behind the business hasn't changed. We believe in people. We believe in second chances. And we believe that when a community comes together, lives can change.
More Than Furniture. A Store With a Story.
Every customer who walks through our doors becomes part of that story.
Thank you for being part of ours.
