16 Cents Supports Area Children Recovering After the August Wildfires
When wildfires swept through the Spokane area in August, families lost homes, belongings, and the everyday essentials their children depended on. As neighbors began rebuilding, we wanted to help bring a little comfort back into their lives.
That’s why 16 Cents, 3 Shoes & 5 Socks launched a Wildfire Relief Clothing Drive for Children, with all donations going to Teen & Kid Closet.
Thanks to your generosity, we’ve already delivered twenty or more barrels of donations. We’re overwhelmed by the kindness of our customers, friends, family, and neighbors. Every donation represents someone taking the time to care for a child whose life has been disrupted.
A fresh pair of socks, comfortable pajamas, or shoes that fit can help restore some everyday comfort while a family works to recover. These simple items meet real needs and remind families that their community is beside them. A special thank-you goes to the sweet woman who brought in handmade quilts, and to Mary and Babette for their generous donations. To everyone who has contributed: thank you for helping our youngest neighbors.
We received support from our customers in Spokane, Spokane Valley, and Rathdrum, Idaho, at one of our four 16 Cents, 3 Shoes & 5 Socks stores.
Recovery continues long after the flames are out. Thank you for showing what it means to support people in need. Our customers always show up.
